About Us

Potter PC Services offers professional consulting services in the software development and IT fields. We are based just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and we provide both local and remote services.

Our business opened in 2005 as a simple home-based, on-call tech support service. Shortly after, we added business and personal website development to our portfolio, and some of the sites we've built are still running after over a decade. Software development is a more recent addition, because we felt the time was right to branch out, to bring our extensive expertise in creating applications to everyone.

Our mission is creation. Software can never be perfect, but we want to create something that is as close to that ideal as we can make. We work using minimal AI tooling, because we believe the human touch is necessary to build new things.

Whether you need an app, a site refresh, or simple maintenance, we will give you the same high quality, high effort work. We'll always work with you every step of the way to help bring your vision to life.

About the Founder

Michael H. Potter is the founder of Potter PC Services, and has run the company since its inception in 2005. He has worked professionally in IT and technical support since 1998, and in software development since 2004.

From 2021 to 2025, Michael served as the CTO and lead developer for Collectiv Technologies, Inc., a software development firm based in Warrenton, Virginia, where he worked on the company's flagship ALANA software, as well as numerous other projects.

Michael is an accomplished author who has written over a dozen novels, as well as numerous short stories. His other accomplishments include contributions to a wide array of open source software, mentorship and tutoring for young and aspiring developers, and involvement in local politics.
